Pup-date

I am so happy, loved and learning that snow isn't a bad thing! I don't remember ever seeing the ground covered with cold white dust! I can deal with this, but make sure when I come in to have a snuggly warm spot for me.

Since no one had any idea of what kind of pup I am, we did a DNA test on me. And guess what it said??? I am 25% Minature Poodle, 25% Cocker Spaniel, 12.5% American Foxhound (what? I am from Central Mexico!) 12.5% Chinese Shar-Pei and another 25% of many mixes! Let me tell you, I am a very special special girl needing a very special family!

November 23, 2016

I met a new doctor today at UW Madison Vet Hospital. He was very kind and I fell in love with him! He even took pictures of my leg and I laid really still for him. He told me my condition is congenital and I will be fine for a long time. Maybe when I get older a prosthetic leg may help me, but for now, my muscles are great and I have to keep my weight down. I am on the perfect food, and I will continue to eat it so I can stay strong

. Did you know that I love other pups? We all play together and sleep together.`Since there is not too much information on my life before rescue, I can tell you that I need to eat away from other pups so I don't wander off and eat their food too. Foster mom says I horf my food down, probably because I had to search for my food in the past. No more of that for me!

Good things ahead for me. I can feel it!

Intake 11-14-2016

Hola! Me llama Pearl!

My name is Pearl. I am a very loving year and a half old beauty, inside and out. I just arrived in the United States from Central Mexico where I was found in a field trying to nurse my deceased babies. I don't remember much before this day, maybe it's best. Some human angels found me and immediately took me to their vet. I was bathed and given vaccinations and a spay. A wonderful lady that has a rescue took me under her wing and brought me to her home. Once A Promise of Love saw my picture and read about me, they put a hold on me. I boarded the rescue van and arrived on the 14th of November to my United States, my new country. I love it here because I know I will never be alone, abandoned or starved.

A little about me...I can run, walk and jump HIGH! My front right leg never grew as I got older and it is small and curved. A Promise of Love will be taking me in to the UW Vet Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin on Wednesday, November 23rd. I have an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon named Dr. Bleedorn. He will assess my leg and we will go from there.A Nice man in Madison also will be meeting us at the hospital, he makes prosthetic's for animals! How lucky am I? I just don't want to be bothered with arthritis and pain as I get older. Keep your eyes open for new posts and my progress.

I love dogs. I love toys. I love people. I love sleeping in the big bed with my foster mom. I love my foster daddy and help him exercise every morning. I am potty trained, I will never turn away from a bowl of  Taste of the Wild grain free kibble. I love riding in the car, I am crate trained and there is no such thing as TOO many toys!

It's best I go to a forever home with a fenced in yard. I am always a flight risk. The door opens, and I'm outta there! Not for lack of love, but I need to explore this great country.

My adoption fee is $350.00

With Love and nose licks,

Pearl
