Hello Everyone,

I'm Harley!

Foster mom told me that I needed to tell you about me.  

I Love to be held, I get along well with my fur brothers and sisters (the cat is kinda sketchy) but I even like her too. 

I am fine at the groomer.  I had Lyme disease but it's all better now.  I had my teeth fixed and I only have 4 left.  I don't have a lower jaw anymore but I eat just fine.  Foster mommy has me on a special food.  

I LOVE to go for walks and will do potty each and every time we walk.  I do live with big dogs and my BFF is 50 lbs!  

I like to be carried BUT foster mom makes me walk, she said that after all I am a dog and I belong on the floor with the other dogs.

I love all people, even the little ones that cant talk or walk yet.

I have my own bed and toys that are all mine and I LOVE it when you play with me.  If you ask me a question and I am happy I will either jump in the air or bob my head up and down, my nickname is Bob.  My favorite toys are shaped like a bean and I can play ALL day with them.

I love to fetch my bean and bring it back to you.

I am potty trained and crate trained.  If I have to go potty I let you know by doing zoomies all around the house.

I don't bark much but I do bark.  When I am very happy I will let out a little moan.  I do not try to run out the door when it is opened.  

Now here are some things foster mom said I have to tell you.

I have resource guarding issues.  My foster mom said she thinks it's because of how I was treated before.  Because of this I am only allowed to go to a home that has had little dog experience and no children under the age of 7.  I can't bite anyone but I can scare a little child. 

I was found very dirty and I did not get a bath or haircut for a very long time.  It took hours to clean me up.  I had a pretty bad boo-boo on my foot, my mouth hurt and the dogtor said I was real sick.  It took a long time to get me better. 

So if you want to meet me and adopt me, foster mom said there is something called an application that you need to fill out?  I don't know what it is but fill it out, I want to meet you too!!!!

I'll be waiting....

Intake 05/02/2019

When Harley came into rescue it was apparent that he was ignored for about 2 years.  He was dirty and weighed down with hair, mats and tangles. 

After a 4 hour groom, we had no choice but to shave him.  After the all the hair and mats were gone, you could see dog bites over his body and a severely infected wound in his leg. Harley saw the vet for this, which is why he in bandaged in the photo.

He received his first vaccinations, but has more to go. Initial blood tests indicated that he was Lyme positive - more labs were taken and he was started on antibiotics for Lyme disease. Harley is currently recovering from his injuries  and then needs to complete Lyme treatment, a dental procedure, and finally he needs to be altered  - so he has quite a long road ahead of him.   

Fortunately Harley is very trusting of his people and only wants to be close to you. He is a sweet boy, eager to please, and lets you know when he needs to go potty.  He would be very happy hanging out on your lap getting petted all day.
