Pupdate 6-5-2017 Gabriel just celebrated his 9th Birthday with us. In this time we have been fostering, we have decided that Gabriel can not be moved to a permanent home. He needs to stay in forever foster care, he does not do well with change. With being involved in rescue for several years, and taking on pups from shelters sight unseen, you never know what you will get. Gabriel was severely brain damaged when he came to us. We went through several years of seizures. Now that the seizures have subsided, Gabriel takes his dose of Prozac twice daily to help control his emotions. Never does a day go by that he may get cranky and try to bite. He can't be trusted enough to get adopted . For the most part, Gabriel is happy and content where his is. We have decided he will stay where he is loved and treated with the respect he so deserves. We are very open to sponsorship. Gabriel will need his yearly vet visits, dentals, and HW medication. Gabriel has a monthly sponsorship for his Prozac. Can you help sponsor Gabriel? Thank you! Pupdate 6-21-2014 Gabriel was taken into foster care in 2009. I have been fostering him for the past 5 years. Gabriel was an owner surrender when he was a year old, given to a shelter. He came from the Milwaukee, WI area. Gabriel came into foster care as a very abused pup, having brain damage and swelling of the brain. After being on Phenobarbitol for 4 years, his seizures have stopped and he has been Pheno free for the past year. Gabriel is currently taking Prozac to keep him calm. The abuse he endured his first year of life has left him with many fears. He is deathly afraid of brooms, mops, and any type of balls(basketballs, soccer balls and children's toy balls). Our Vet had said that these instruments may be the cause of his brain damage and fears. Gabriel will not be adopted out to a family with children. Children tend to scare him and we can not guarantee him not reacting badly towards them. He needs a dog savvy family consisting of adults only where he will get the respect he is so deserving of. He is a lover, gives the best kisses and loves being a lap pup. He is leash trained and looks forward to his walks. Gabriel is currently being fed twice daily, and his food must consist of a grain free diet. He is house trained and crate trained, he is current on his vaccinations, Heartgard and Frontline Plus.
