Shih Tzu (medium coat) : : Female (not spayed) : : Adult : : Small
Learn more about the Shih Tzu. Pipa was taken in under our wings on June 30th, 2017. An urgent call came in that Pipa was on death row because no one had shown any interest in her at the shelter in Tennessee. Pipa had masses of mammary tumors, eye infections, ear infections, bladder stones, fleas and ticks. We took Pipa to our Veterinarian on July 1st for a consult. She was then scheduled for removal of the many tumors for Thursday, July 6th. We were told that she may have cancer but the many tests she had done would give us an idea of where else the cancer was and if it had metastasized. Update: Pipa came out of surgery with flying colors and NO cancer. We believe she was used for breeding and then let loose on her own to fend for herself because of the poor condition she was in. She is a little Princess, has a quiet demeanor until it's time for breakfast or dinner. Then the talking begins until her bowl is put in front of her. Pipa is the perfect pup and loves both men and women. She has not been child tested, but gets along great with other pups large and small. Pipa is still healing from her mammary surgery but soon will be spayed and ready to find her forever home. She is still a bit anemic from her condition but is doing positively wonderful and is a joy to foster. She will need to continue her current diet to make sure she doesn't get bladder stones again. Pipa asks for nothing but love.
