American Eskimo Dog / Mixed (medium coat) : : Male (neutered) : : Senior : : Medium
Learn more about the American Eskimo Dog. 09-01-2019 Cooper needs a fenced in yard so he can explore the great outdoors. He loves walks and is great on a leash. It's hard to believe that Cooper hasn't found his forever home, he is very laid back and asks for nothing but a full tummy, love and a nice warm place to lay his head. He is our senior boy and has been with us for a year and a half. We NEVER give up on our fosters, they stay with us until the perfect home is found. Cooper is UTD on all of his vaccinations, neutered, microchipped and has had his dental. Please read his complete story and maybe, just maybe, he is the perfect pup for you!
Update 1-31-2019 Cooper is wondering why no one has inquired about him. He is the most lovable pup, always wanting to be by your side. He loves to play with his human rolling on the floor and playing hide and seek. Cooper is almost potty trained, he will go to the door when he wants to go outside to do his business. He will not poop in the house, he will find his foster mom or daddy, do a little dance to let us know it's time. Cooper loves to sleep in the big bed, and sleeps so soundly in one spot the entire night. He is a dream pup, loves to go on walks and doesn't bark at other animals while walking. He just goes on his merry way and focuses on the sidewalk ahead. He is a great eater, never misses a meal. He is a pure joy to foster.
Cooper has a true desire to be loved. His trust issues have vanished and he is a pure joy around people and other pups. He only barks when he is excited while I prepare his meals. Cooper is still lifting his leg, but has started going to the door when he has to do his business. I believe it's just a bad habit and he needs more time to understand that being in a warm loving home doesn't mean he needs to use the home as an indoor potty spot. It's very difficult for a pup this age to be perfect when he has spent his entire life outside. He does have use of a belly band at all times. He always does his poo's outside. Cooper loves his person, needs to be close by at all times. Loves to sit on your lap or close to you touching you. He will dance for his meals and is very exuberant when it comes to treats.
Update 5/27/18 I've come a longgg way baby! My hair is finally fluffy and I actually look like a real pup. No More Naked for me. Foster mom brushes me and bathes me so I keep mat free and smelling like a rose. My foster daddy thinks I was an outside dog cause I still have a few problems with lifting my leg in the house. I wear a belly band until I can be trusted to do all my business outside. I love walks, I am perfect on a leash. I don't pull or bark when walking. My temperament is smooth as as silk. I get along well with the other fosters and mind my own business. I am not one to play with toys, I love vegging out with my foster dad and I insist on sleeping with him in the big bed. I would love to find my forever home where it is quiet and I can go for a daily walk then snuggle up on the sofa or chair with my new family. You know what they say, senior dogs ROCK!!! Cooper
Update 02/12/2018 Wow, I had my dental yesterday and lost 17 teeth! That hasn't slowed me down one bit. I am still eating like a champ and going outside to do my business. Foster mom will add more pictures of me in the next few days. PS, I still have 5 teeth left, 5 days of eating soft food then I'll be back on my kibble.
Intake 02/05/2018 My name is Cooper and I have to be one of the most gentle pups on earth! I was a confiscation case and I was finally released to rescue after spending time at the shelter. When A Promise of Love saw me, they knew that they couldn't resist taking me in under their wings. I am a pretty quiet kind of pup, I only get excited and bark when it's time for a meal. I am a little underweight and need to put on some needed pounds. Foster mom is working on that, feeding me three times a day. Low and slow!!! I have slept a lot since being in a nice warm home and being loved on. I showed my foster parents how skilled I am by coming up the steps backwards! I can go down them easy but I was never taught how to come back up! In time, my siblings will teach me. I am potty trained, UTD on all my vaccinations, heart worm negative and neutered. I will have my much needed dental on the 8th of February.Doctor says I will loose many teeth but it will make me healthier. Not too much is known on my background but that doesn't really matter. I won't look back if you won't. I would love a home that is quiet and maybe have another senior pup for company. I do need a fence in my yard so I don't wander off. Although I am leash trained, I would love to explore your backyard unleashed. As I decompress my foster mom will be adding updates. My adoption fee is $250.00
