Learn more about the Pekingese. Intake 02-19-2020 CACC 2/20/2020 Hamilton has seen our Vet today. He has a very bad case of pneumonia so no vaccinations will be done. He is on a heavy dose of antibiotics for the next 2 weeks. 2/23/2020 Hamilton has gotten a wee bit stronger but has green drainage from his nose. He is complete skin and bones and we were told to only feed him wet food because his teeth are rotting. He also has infection in his mouth, praying the antibiotics will help. 2/25/2020 Hamilton has gotten worse with coughing,lethargy and refuses to eat. I took him into our vet and more x-rays were taken. He has a temperature and he is losing weight. We are on our way now to the UW Veterinary Hospital for Emergency care. 2/26/2020 Dr. Saver called from the UW. Hamilton is in oxygen now and and will continue to be in oxygen while he is at the hospital. Many tests were taken to figure out what is going on in his body. His teeth are rotting from the inside out, his type of pneumonia is mycoplasma bacterial pneumonia. He is still losing weight and has no appetite. 2/27/2020 Update Hamilton has started eating, small amounts at a time. He is on a myriad of medications now. He is slowly starting to breathe better but is kept in oxygen. Blastomycosis has been ruled out. 2/28/2020 Hamilton continues to eat small amounts of food. He is being given Entyce to give him an appetite. Dr. Saver thinks he may be able to come home tomorrow afternoon. 2/29/2020 Hamilton is home now in isolation. He is being given nebulizer treatments three times a day along with coupage after every treatment. His appetite is good, he is now eating three full meals a day. He is potty trained but has no energy to go down 4 steps to the back yard, so we are carrying him down. He continues to lose weight. Update 4/1/2020 Hamilton is finally out of isolation and has been taken off all of his medications except for his steroid which will end on Friday April 10th. Hamilton has seen our local vet twice last month and his lungs are finally clearing up. His lowest weight recorded was 12.5 lbs, he is up to 13.5.
