9-21-15 Foster mom Deb Novak

Redford is one of the smartest and most affectionate dogs that I have ever had the honor of fostering.
Redford has excelled in obedience, walking nicely on leash, loving to go on walks. Just don't leave your car door open unless you have intentions of taking him somewhere, he loves car rides. His, sit stays and down stays are perfect and you can recall him right past toys, which he loves and bones or treats, which he loves even more.
He is a little nervous when meeting new people but is extremely devoted once you have earned his trust. Once that happens, you will see the happiest little guy in your life.
Red has never had an accident in the house, he let's you know that he needs to go out by barking at you. He likes other dogs and unless you are an active person, Red would do best with another dog friend to wrestle with. He does not however like cats, so for a positive placement, he should be in a cat free home.
Redford lives to please you and will snuggle up with you when you relax at the end of your day. He loves hugs and when you get home, will give you the best body-slamming hugs. Red will stand forever and let you brush him then look at you funny when you stop. He's also a really good dancer.
Red is the first in bed at night and will take his place at your feet. When your alarm goes off in the morning, he's again off and ready to go.
When the right home comes along for Redford, he will make that home 100 times happier. You will not be able to resist this happy little guy.
If I did not have cats, he would not be going anywhere. He has brought so much love and many happy moments to our lives.

Redford was brought into rescue on November 13, 2014 from Animal Care in Chicago.  Red was listed as an owner surrender for reasons unknown.

Red is a very energetic pup that will require daily walking.  He loves toys to the point of total destruction. We will  find out if he fetches once the 3 feet of snow disappears and we can get outside for play days.

Red will need a family with maybe one other pup although he gets along with all of his foster sisters and brothers. He tends to get so excited at meal time, he will dance over the others until he is fed.

Redford is crate trained and totally house trained. He lets us know when he needs to go out and relieve himself by standing at the back door. He loves attention and will dance with us having his paws on our stomach. He is a great lap dog and is basically our security system when someone comes to the door.

We feed all of our pups a grain free diet. It's better for their health and their coat.

Redford will need his basic training to continue, he is a young pup and has only known the training we have taught him. He can be territorial with new people coming into his space. He has seen abuse in his short life and we are hoping he will forget his past and move on to be the loving pup he was born to be.

Redford will do well in a home with older, respectful children.  He will not be a candidate for infants or small children as he is very rambunctious and would tend to knock small children over.

Redford is very particular who he comes in contact with. He guards his foster mom and rarely lets anyone close to her. We are working on his training with a professional trainer and hopefully with continued training, he will be perfect in any setting.

Redford is needing some training and he is on hold until further notice.
