Update 8-18-2016 Brandi is thriving and becoming a very happy and confident girl. She is still a bit timid which is totally understandable since she was used and abused in 2 different puppy mills. Brandi loves being outdoors and is the explorer in her foster family. She enjoys her baths and can't get enough of her brushing time. Brandi is still no where close to being potty trained, so she wears pixie panties. Brandi is looking for a quiet home with no children. She needs a securely fenced yard to enable her to continue exploring. She would do well in a home with a companion. Brandi's adoption fee is $300.00. 05-11-2016 Brandi has gained a full pound since her arrival. She looks much healthier now and has a bit more zest to her step. To know you is to trust you. Brandi needs time to warm up to new people, she still shows some fear. If given the opportunity in a quiet home, it will not take her long to warm up. Loud noises and quick movements still frighten her so we think it best she finds her forever home with a family that has no children. 1-24-16 Brandi has come a long way since she has been in our care. She has mastered the stairs and doesn't run when we approach her. She needs to be touching you while you are either sitting or sleeping. She loves her rubs on her head and back, but is still a bit skittish with belly rubs. She has a great appetite, we are feeding her 2 large meals a day, and a small meal for lunch. She needs to gain a little weight. This, my friends, is not a typical mill pup. She appreciates her warm home and loves her foster siblings. Intake January 11, 2016 Brandi is a 4 year old puppy mill retiree. She was born in an Arkansas mill and then brought up to a Wisconsin mill last year. She was used as a surrogate mom for the past year. Brandi is new to life outside the box. She loves exploring and just started playing with her foster sister. She is a very gentle soul and a bit skittish, yet when you pick her up, she will melt right into you. She has yet to growl or show any aggression towards the other pups. She is learning what toys are and will carry one in her mouth for a bit, until she drops it and moves on. Brandi just learned to go up the stairs, but is having a difficult time coming down. I feel that within a week or so, she will be flying down with ease. She has a hearty appetite but is not fond of treats. Brandi is fully vetted, had a dental, is HW neg. She is UTD on all of her vaccinations and will require no vetting for the next year. She is also microchipped. Brandi was shaved down at the mill, like most of the pups gaining their freedom. They are usually matted to the max and filthy. Her coat is shiny and new, and will grow out long and luxurious. We are working on her potty training, but with mill pups, there is never a guarantee. We are also working on her leash training and she seems quite comfortable walking on a leash.
